For me, in Excel 2007, spreadsheets always open in the same "master" Excel window. If I want to view two spreadsheets concurrently I have to use the internal Excel windows manager and my view is limited to the size of the "master/Primary" window.
Jarrah of "Jarrah's Blog Pile" has a great solution/mod for this issue. Follow his instructions and you can launch multiple instances of excel, each with only one spreadsheet.

They must have updated this because I am able to open seperate instances of Excel 2007 without a mod, and they only open with one blank workbook.
